Building on previous research on the social aspects of corporate sustainability and sustainable finance, this talk will apply some of these findings to contemporary debates about circular economy initiatives. It will highlight both the social and the comparative potential of research on circular economy projects, proposing a method of comparative analysis grounded in qualitative research including surveys, interviews, and ethnography that builds on and extends existing industrial ecology research in China and abroad.

Matthew Archer，约克大学环境与地理系可持续发展专业助理教授。他的研究探讨了企业和金融机构等非国家行为者在可持续发展治理中的作用，重点关注全球矿产和农业供应链中的标准、技术和劳动力的交叉问题。他的工作涉及人文地理学、人类学等跨学科对话，并在Environment and Planning E: Nature and Space, Geo-Humanities, Political Geography, Critique of Anthropology, and Surveillance & Society等期刊发表论文。
